Any entrepreneur who has been in business for at least six months can participate in the program.
Would I get to choose my own protégé?
The matching process is simple. BMI generates a list of suitable candidates and then your local program coordinator will present you with a profile to review and provide final approval over.
What areas of business do the BMI protégés come from?
Our protégés come from all sectors. BMI mentors are matched with protégés whose businesses could benefit from the guidance of someone with your knowledge and experience.
What skill or knowledge level will I be working with?
A candidate protégé can have any skill level. Most will have already been working with a community business development organization for some time and have the basics covered. Within your areas of expertise, your coordinator will work to match you with a protégé whose skill level you are comfortable with.
How much time do I have to devote to my protégé?
BMI recommends at least two hours of face to face meeting every month, plus email and phone communication in between. But, it is up to you and your protégé to determine the upper limits of time contributions.
