BMI aims to foster the development of emerging leaders through promotion of a collaborative, province-wide social system for the exchange of business knowledge, skills and experience.
In partnership with economic development organizations, communities, industries and special interest groups, BMI currently supports mentorship initiatives between businesses across the province. In this way, BMI services address the challenge of retention and expansion of businesses, particularly in rural areas. BMI will also develop support services to supplement recruitment and retention initiatives that more directly target youth and the labour force in general.
Currently, partner organizations supported by BMI recruit mentors and protégés into locally run programs. BMI assists these programs with training, information resources, support with partnership planning, a province-wide database/project management system, networking opportunities and promotional materials.
